Building a text and slide library for Molecular Tumor Board
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Project Description
UCSF has a Molecular Tumor Board (MTB) that meets twice a month where clinicians can come and ask clinician-scientists with expertise in genomics questions about how to apply the results of their patient's genomic tests to patient care.
The board members will pull together a few research slides summarizing their recommendation. The program manager will then write up a detailed recommendation report summarizing the boards findings to deliver back to the requesting clinician. Currently this is completely manual and many of the same genes/variant pop up. We would like to build a library of slides that the board members can use as a resource instead of having to create new slides de novo every time AND we would like to build a modular text library to significantly cut down on the amount of time currently spent in writing the recommendation reports (e.g. 3 hours per report). By developing these resources, we can scale and therefore discuss and help more patients and clinicians.
